FAQ
Shirts & Sizing
What size shirt should I order?
Apostle shirts are sized by collar and sleeve length. The collar number (15, 15.5, 16 etc.) is your neck measurement in inches — the same as any formal shirt. If you're unsure, measure around the base of your neck and add half an inch.
The S, R, L refers to sleeve length. Regular is the standard fit. Short is roughly an inch shorter — arms and body. Long is roughly an inch longer. If you're between sizes, go Regular.
If you're used to the traditional two-number format (e.g. 16/35), use this table to find your equivalent:
| Collar | Short (S) | Regular (R) | Long (L) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 | 15/33 | 15/34 | 15/35 |
| 15.5 | 15.5/34 | 15.5/35 | 15.5/36 |
| 16 | 16/34 | 16/36 | 16/37 |
| 16.5 | 16.5/35 | 16.5/36 | 16.5/38 |
| 17 | 17/35 | 17/37 | 17/38 |
| 17.5 | 17.5/36 | 17.5/37 | 17.5/38 |
| 18 | 18/36 | 18/37 | 18/38 |
Still unsure? Drop us a line at info@apostlelondon.com. We'd rather spend two minutes helping you get the right size than have you return it.
What's the fit like?
Slim fit. Not fashion-slim — no one wants to feel like they're being vacuum-packed — but it's a fitted shirt, not a relaxed one.
What's the fabric?
Two-fold 100s poplin from an Italian mill, made from US-grown Supima cotton. The same fabric is used by Jermyn Street shirtmakers who sell for £200+. We sell the shirt for £60. That's the whole point.
Delivery & Returns
How long does delivery take?
Orders placed by 3pm on a weekday arrive the next day. Orders after 3pm, or over the weekend, may take an extra day. All UK delivery is free.
We use Royal Mail.
What's the return policy?
100 days, no quibbles. Try the shirt, wear it, wash it — if you're not happy for any reason, get in touch and we'll sort it. In practice, we want customers to be satisfied, so if you're outside the 100 days and something isn't right, get in touch anyway. We'll do the right thing.
Returns are free.
The Brand
Why only the bestsellers?
Because two thirds of all formal shirts sold in the UK are white. Most men's wardrobes are built around the same five or six items. So we make those — and only those — as well as they can possibly be made, and sell them direct without the retail markup.
The fashion industry exists to convince you that you need more variety than you do. We disagree.
Why no sales or discounts?
Because they're a con. The standard model is: inflate the price, run a "sale," make the customer feel time pressure for getting a deal. We'd rather just charge a fair price all the time.
There are two exceptions. When we have returns stock, we occasionally sell it at a reduced price and say so honestly. Occasionally we offer a small discount in exchange for customer feedback — we frame it as paying for your time, because that's what it is.
That's it.
Where are your products made?
Shirts: the fabric comes from an Italian mill called Monti. The shirts are constructed in India, which is where the majority of the world's shirts are made, including most of what's sold on Jermyn Street. The fabric is the quality determinant, and ours is the best available.
Shoes: handcrafted in Northampton, England — the home of British shoe manufacturing. The leather is European calf.
Jumpers, polos and chinos are all made in China
